Pensford Memorial Hall - Frequently Asked Questions

 

 

Q. Can I view the hall before making a final booking?
A. Yes, a visit can be arranged through the Booking secretary who will respond to your provisional booking.

 

Q. What is the seating capacity?
A. The main hall has capacity for 180 people in total, but if the function is seated, this is reduced to 120. These numbers include bar and catering staff. The Pavilion room has a capacity for 50 people in total.

 

Q. Is there access for disabled persons?
A. Yes and there is also a washroom facility.

 

Q. Are there any baby changing facilities?

A. Yes

 

Q. At what time must the hall be vacated?
A. Please see our licence for finishing times.  Click the following links to view our licence -  page 1   page 2  The hall and kitchen must be cleared of food and other items and the tables and chairs must be put away before vacating the premises.

 

EQUIPMENT

 

Q. Does the hall hire charge include furniture?
A. The hire charge includes use of tables and chairs. You will be responsible for erecting these and putting them away. If the event is outside, an additional booking bond will be required at the time of booking.

Q. Are cutlery and crockery supplied?
A. If you hire the kitchen then these will be included in the price. See list of equipment click here for Kitchen Inventory

Q. Can I hire our own equipment?
A. Yes, but it will have to be removed at the end of the event.

 

CATERING

 

Q. Can I do my own catering or hire an outside caterer?
A. Yes, the Hall does not have an in-house caterer, though we may be able to provide refreshments for the Pavilion Room. (Upon Request).

 

BAR

 

Q. What are the arrangements for the bar?
A. A fully licensed bar may be available upon request

 

Q. What time does the bar stop serving drinks?
A. Opening times must conform with the terms of our licence. Click the following links to view our licence -  page 1   page 2   However, you will need to make final arrangements with the bar manager once a booking has been confirmed.

 

Q. Can I bring my own wine and other drinks?
A. Should you wish to provide your own wines and other drinks please discuss this with the Booking Clerk at the time of booking. Wine and beer glasses are available to hire ( a deposit will be required to cover any breakages). NB you cannot sell alcohol or use the bar facilities.

 

MUSIC

 

Q. Can I hire a live band and/or disco?
A. Yes. Please also note because we have a responsibility to local residents, all music must finish at the time determined by our licence. You will be asked to accept the conditions relating to this - for more information please see our conditions of hire. Click here for our conditions

Hiring the Pensford Memorial Hall for your own functions and events:

 

Important information: A deposit of £20.00, or the full amount if less, is required on confirmation of booking. In certain circumstances, a security bond to ensure the hall is left in good order might also be required. This would be refunded by the Treasurer after the event if this condition is satisfied.
