Future Bright

Publow with Pensford Parish Council

We have been informed that Bath and North East Somerset Council are introducing  a free service called “Future Bright” to help local people “improve their lives”.  The programme is managed by the West of England Combined Authority and will be delivered locally by Bath and North and East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire councils.

The key aims are to support residents, who are receiving in-work benefits, into more secure and rewarding careers. Future Bright will deliver a bespoke service, based on participants’ needs and aspirations in life and in work.

Who is eligible?

Participants need to be:

  • Resident in Bristol, South Gloucestershire or Bath and North East Somerset;
  • aged 19 and over;
  • Receiving one of more of the following in-work benefits – Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction, JSA, ESA, Income Support or Universal Credit.

They have a budget to help with training courses or help with self-employment and work with a number of partners within the areas to deliver the best service possible.
