Bath & North East Somerset Council has issued a notice of intention to introduce a mandatory 20 mph speed limit on a section of the A37 Pensford Hill and New Road in Pensford, which would replace the current advisory 20 mph limit that operates when wig wag signals flash adjacent to Pensford Primary School. It is considered that reducing the existing 30mph speed limit to a permanent 20mph along this length of the A37 is appropriate, having due regard for its village character, and would support a safer and more pedestrian friendly street environment, particularly for vulnerable road users, local residents and cyclists. NOTICE is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council proposes to make an
order under provisions contained in the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, the effect
of which will be that it is prohibited to drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20
miles per hour on the lengths of road as listed in Schedule 1.
Full details of the proposals, together with a map and a Statement of the Council’s
Reasons for proposing to make the order, may be inspected at the One Stop Shops at
Manvers Street, Bath, The Hollies, High Street, Midsomer Norton and at the Civic
Centre, Market Walk, Keynsham during normal office hours or may be requested,
